    Disciplinary Appeal

    Case Number: N/A

    Florida Legislature

    Officer Presiding: N/A

    NAME
    William Rocket

    and

GOV. DEPARTMENT (e.g. Florida State Police )
    RESPONDENT

**DISCLAIMER: IF POSSIBLE, YOU MUST FIRST APPEAL INTERNALLY WITHIN YOUR DEPARTMENT
YOU MUST BE LISTED AS ACTIVE ON THE FLORIDA STATE POLICE  ROSTER PRIOR TO DISCIPLINE (10 Hours a Week) TO PLACE A SENATE APPEAL**

    Information
    Trooper's Name: William Rocket

Organisation: FSP (at the time of blacklist)
    Rank: Senior Trooper
    Department: Patrol/Highway Patrol
    Badge Number (If Applicable): N/A

Punishment you were given: Blacklist from PD (not permanent)
Grounds for Appeal (Why should it be overturned):

I believe the punishment should be overturned because when it comes to being a cop and doing my day-to-day tasks/duties, I do amazingly and rarely have issues. I always try to make people less angry, de-escalate situations, and just have fun. When I took the gun off of the suspect for my personal use, I never meant to cause harm and didn't have any ill intent behind it... I was bored and let my curiosity get the best of me. I wanted to use a different gun for a change since the HK416 was rank-locked for me. I understand that my taking it out of roleplay and turning it into an out-of-server thing was stupid of me and ultimately landed me where I am now. All I ask is for a second chance; when it comes to being a cop, I can be an amazing cop and not cause any issues. On the blacklist sheet on the database/roster, it says that I can't appeal; but this is not true; I am allowed to appeal. Let me know if you have any questions or need further elaboration.

It has been over 4.5 months since I have been blacklisted. I think that is more than enough time to sit me in "timeout". Not trying to toss the heat off of me, but there have been others that have done a lot worse than me and have been blacklisted multiple times and are still playing cop presently in Texas. This is my first blacklist ever, I think that alone is enough to justify a second chance.

Any evidence to support this: N/A

Have you requested reasons for your discipline (if yes, please paste them as a reply to this appeal): No

Do you know the case against you (have you seen the evidence)?: N/A

Do you request the Florida Senate Disciplinary Appeal Committee obtain all evidence help by the government in relation to your case?: N/A

Bringing back an active council is a decent idea. It's pretty hard to speak on the entire combat or roleplay. For this to work, people must step up and talk to their appointed leaders/spokespeople about what they want to be changed, what they see, problems, etc.

When I was a combat spokesman, nobody ever came to me with ideas or things to change. I would love to be a combat spokesman again if the entirety of the combat side of the server is willing to be involved and produce ideas and changes they want.

I'm just going to throw this out there, you guys are the only people with a constant 12+ on, doing 10+ people majors, 7-8 attending cap zones, and I'm pretty sure when we go 5 to cap zones as SWAT we are the only group getting near your numbers.  I don't mind the size of your gang at all and uk that, but you guys can split up your gang and fight you just choose not to because you guys are all about winning, which I don't think is inherently bad or anything it's just how it is.

Even cops don't want to fight you guys because of how many you are, and they have cheap guns.  What would function better is the 8 man rule on majors and not having huge zergs at money van, caps, etc., so other people that are not as good with less numbers might feel they will actually have a chance and want to fight, but instead you guys would prefer to zerg, get an easy steam roll then say "man no one wants to fight ahahahahaha we're so good this shit sucks no one wants to fight we blame the rpers, fuck the grinders, etc.!" XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.

I agree with some points here 100%; Im just here to shoot people and have a fun time, not crazy about winning like others, I'm simply making an observation. I have seen Dirty Bandits, Baja Blast, NFS, other uniformed gangs, etc., with a decent bit of numbers 5-6+ that are more than capable of going and fighting zones and getting involved with the gang side/combat aspect of the server, not saying that they don't ever do, just not enough to the point where I would consider them truly involved. I have been to Steel, earth, coal, ruby, and its processors and have seen gangs like that with 5-7 people, and they are all doing contracts and farming. Currently, farmers/crafters and people doing contracts make up a substantial portion of the server population (excluding cops). Keep in mind, I'm not even the original poster of this thread, but it makes me scratch my head when people don't see what others and I are talking about. So, to put it into simple words... there are multiple other groups with decent numbers that, for whatever reason, don't get involved in fights, red zones, conflict, cap zones, or majors (or very rarely do). The overall gang presence and involvement with combat will improve when class 3's come out, sure, but... well.. im not going to go any further because people will just get upset and say I and others are attacking the server and saying it's boring when in reality, that's not what im saying. I am sharing my concern with what I see so far.

Maybe you should consider to not invite 20-30 people+ into each gang. There is a limited amout of Players on the Server and its a shared decision from gangs to invite so many people that there are only 2-3 big gangs that compete against each other than maybe 5-10 small gangs with maybe 10-15 people in the gang itself. And im pretty sure if there were more small gangs than only 2-3 very big ones more gangs would like to compete in combat overall.

Philip, you're not understanding, pal! There are 2-3 gangs with reasonable numbers willing to fight and contest one another. These "small gangs" you are talking about barely appear at zones, majors, and open area fights. As I mentioned before, many groups/gangs, aka your "small gangs" you are talking about, are farming and doing contracts all day long, which is why I say I only see 2-3 gangs fighting each other. Call me stupid, say what I'm saying is silly, whatever makes you feel better, I have gone around the map and seen many of the things I'm talking about.. so I think I know.

These comments are just silly when class 3s arent even out yet.

Its not silly, what I said was the truth. Barely have interacted with anyone other than my own gang, barely see other gangs, majority of server is farming and doing runs (went to each of the mines and processors and checked for myself), combat gang presence is low right now. when class 3's come out, one to two more very small gangs will appear willing to fight and contest other gangs and that's about it.

  6. There is little that can be done or will be done. Anzus staff will never ban a specific playstyle. It just so happens that there are not a lot of fighters or roleplayers, mostly grinders making up the majority of the population, which is sad because I barely have interacted with anyone except for my own gang. The gang/combat presence in 7.0 is looking to be even worse then in 6.0 🤣

get ready, its gonna be a lot of fighting the same 3 gangs for the next few months lol.

Ah, Jordan, your enthusiasm is appreciated, but it's also a bit narrow for the range of what roleplay in Arma 3 modded servers actually offers. In your fervor for the return of class 3 weapons, one might think you do not understand the deep, multifaceted experience that roleplaying provides. It's not just the weapons you have at your disposal, but the exploration of your character, the dynamics of society, the stories that are created.
To make high-powered weaponry your main draw is to slight the potential for deep, intertwining narratives. Actual roleplay isn't about the most dazzling gun battle or the most intense action scene, but the ability to get lost -- and help others get lost -- in a universe that's been carefully built. It's navigating a web of emotions, alliances, and conflicts, and bypassing all the easy answers and the violence.
In addition, the current shot toward pistols and then to the immediate non-lethal says that this is a boundary of creativity. This a push to find new ways to interact in the game. That encouragement to use diplomacy, negotiation, stealth and countless other strategies is not often seen past the simple answer of just using some sort of iron sight or laser dot.
So instead of complaining that no one has class 3 firearms, we should take this time actually examine the real heart of roleplay. It's a chance to transcend a mere series of gunfights and to reach the limit on the real bounds of our characters. We might find that the most powerful weapon we have isn't an actual firearm at all -- it's the way we, as humans, tell stories. It's being able to weave a tapestry that hits all of the highs and lows of emotion, and really gets at a deeper, and very human level. The real battlefield is at the end of our minds, and of our hearts -- it's not only a richer experience, but also probably the one we would truly find more fulfilling. Let's not rush back to class 3 weapons, let's use the time now to redefine roleplay -- not as a contest to see who has the most kills, but as the absolute art of storytelling, and character craft.

    Jack,

I appreciate such an insightful response, and I agree wholeheartedly that the essence of roleplay in Arma 3 modded servers extends far beyond the mere acquisition of class 3 weapons. Your emphasis on the intricate tapestry of narratives, character exploration, and societal dynamics is precisely what makes roleplaying in such environments so captivating and unique.

Indeed, the allure of high-powered weaponry can sometimes overshadow the depth and richness of the storytelling experience that these servers offer. Your reminder to appreciate the diverse array of strategies and interactions available, from diplomacy to stealth, is a valuable one. It's these elements that truly allow players to delve into the complexities of their characters and the world around them.

Moreover, your point about the current shift towards non-lethal approaches as a boundary of creativity is particularly intriguing. Embracing alternatives to violence opens up new avenues for roleplaying and challenges players to think outside the box, fostering a more nuanced and engaging experience.

In essence, you've aptly highlighted that the true essence of roleplay lies not in the quantity of kills or the firepower of one's arsenal, but in the depth of storytelling and the exploration of human emotions. It's about weaving narratives that resonate on a profound level, transcending the virtual battlefield to touch upon the essence of what it means to be human.

Your perspective serves as a poignant reminder to cherish the art of storytelling and character craft, and to embrace the richness of roleplay beyond its surface trappings. Thank you for sharing your insights and inspiring us to redefine our approach to roleplaying in Arma 3 modded servers.

    Best regards,

I like Armory and Drug, although.. they could use minor changes to make them even better. Replace nuclear with scrapyard and rename it, obviously, and still have it so players can deliver the Nuclear transport truck there.

Nuclear should be replaced now because plenty of people have had a chance to play the zone and get a feel for it, and from what I have heard, nuclear seems to be the most disliked among the three.

  11. Type of Suggestion?: (e.g. server suggestion, server rule suggestion.) Server

Please explain what the suggestion is about and why you're posting it?: I think that we should have a Christmas-style talent show or event in Miami Square. Different groups/factions can perform and converse at the event, bringing lots of fun and holiday spirit to the island of Florida.

Solution on how to make this work?: Admins can place objects/stage and decorate the Miami town with Christmas decorations and announce the event/show at some point on the server any day they choose/deem fit.

Pros & Cons?: none, I think it would be fun and bring some holiday spirit.

  12. +1 would be nice to see, seeming as our "most recent" "new gun" was a re-skinned spar 16 made to look like a Sig Spear MCX; I think it would be a good idea to have an update focused toward bringing in new guns or something and just switching up the meta along with allowing more variety in regular weapon choice options. (what I mean is everyone buys M4 Tac, HK416, Tavor, and Masada, and we can switch up the common choices by adding more variety of weapons like the Type 115, MX possibly, or maybe dabbling in other 5.56 modded weapons)

Using the same guns for the past two years is getting old, and I think the island could benefit from a weapon-focused update or something along those lines.

You guys have bearcats, 2 1 tap snipers 8x scopes at a major, sups, flashbangs/smokes,6.8, number advantage with 0 downside at all. It costs a fraction of the price with almost 0% chance of losing it and you can buy it all from shops. If the civs are using 7.62 or a LMG at the major the risk reward factor is crazy. Ex: A 7.62 is around 30-40k, LMG 50-60k and most payouts don't even cover the cost of a gun.
The post never said you guys shouldn't have access to the weapons, he is just stating it should be equally as hard to acquire these weapons. Feels like whenever the cops don't have a significant advantage vs civs at majors they come to the forums to complain instead of trying different strats.

  14. I see why SWAT has 7.62 weapons now and such, but... you ended up fighting fire with fire rather than balancing things; cops are extremely rich from paychecks and other activities, so SWAT buying a 7.62 weapon out of a shop is like a fat kid in a candy store; they are going to buy it almost every time. Civilians have to place an order and wait and end up paying 15-25k depending on who the crafter is PER 7.62 rifle, and on top of that, there is a limit to how many you can buy as they aren't just flooding the market right now. You think they are, but they are not, trust me. I don't personally use 7.62, but I can forsee SWAT having such easy access to 7.62 weapons being an issue.

Hello, I think the new capture points that are added are great, however I think the previous capture points kept along with the ones added should be voted amongst all the gangs on which ones to keep/remove/change. I think all capture points have had long enough to be evaluated by people, the dev team should take a picture of each capture point and have a vote for each one on keep/remove/change.

Along with that conflict has no real reward to individuals or gangs beside straight combat/fun, there is no reward and if people play it enough they will get tired of doing the same thing with no reward, people need satisfaction for time invested/winning/participating besides warpoints, even with warpoints that system is not rewarding or fulfilling whatsoever.

I agree, the reward is just way too low, A 70k-80k reward, split between 4 people is literally 17-18k each, which is enough for an m4 tac or a HK416 from a rebel shop. Reward needs to be bigger 100%
