I do not think it makes sense in RP for EMS to have guns on duty, and they definitely should not be shooting unless their own life is at risk..
EMS SOP's state they are only for use in defence against wildlife, cuz kittys up north are angry. this instance was a gray area regarding a PD volunteer that we discussed with PD and will be going forward to resolve the issue. This should not happen again.

For the sake of clarity we are fixing the gray zone that exists in our SOP, and this should no longer be an issue.

loving the idea, and could make for some cool rp too e.g professional photographers

+1 on this, I also like Jahs suggestion on having caches that only crimes would know about that can be found, maybe a similar way that workbenches are currently. Adds more RP, more things for cops to do ect while removing the unlimited unchecked storage that vins provide currently.

Type of Suggestion?: (server suggestion
Please explain what the suggestion is about and why you're posting it.: Serious Roleplay - Safezones shouldn't be a thing. If you have people camping out at alta than talk to that gang. Feel like camping shouldn't be allowed. Safezones are just socal zones and people use them as safezones. Lets say ems is denying my buddy medical treatment and we go into with guns demanding it. We will get reported for doing that because phillbox is a safezone
Solution on how to make this work?: Remove safe zones and add in more serious rp rules
Pros & Cons?: Ems will be upset and people at alta are gonna need to be more careful
Please go into great detail with your suggestions, Drives the community to roleplay everywhere instead in safezones and also just camping in safezones
At this moment, Id say keep them, until we are in the clear and LQRP is really honed in on and toned down, then we can think about removing them, as long as people keep things reasonable. I feel like if we did this right now, theres a decent chunk of the city population that would just abuse it, hense their implementation in the first place.

+1, really think it needs changing, maybe add something like the mining job so different levels of gold panning stuffLevel 1 Gold Pan Tray
Level 2 Better Verision of the tray
level 3 a Sluce BoxLevel 4 something can be automated, maybe you leave it and it slowly gathers over time gold flakes and you can empty it and pick it up once its done, make it expensive but not over powered so people use it in addition to also using the better gold pan
Love this idea

big +1 to this, I agree with the 15% ish difference. of course larger crimes give greater benefits, but civs need more incentive.

What you tryna get at here. I’m already on a ban for it. So what are you tryna get at. It’s not the reason why I made this suggestion but go ahead drill at me more. Sorry that I ruined your guys event if that’s what you wanna hear.
Im just responding to the points you made, not trying to do anything. I just brought up the context of the situation given the suggestion. Im not expecting to gain anything out of it other than the discussion of the topic and whether EMS should or should not have firearms, but the background info as to where the suggestion is coming from is warrented. Im not here to witchhunt, just to give context.

Also lspd should make it know that they are a off duty officer when getting Involved with a crime
Thats a discussion to be had with PD over their SOPS, im not aware of what their requirements are. Also if im not mistaken you should be able to stop hotwiring with X, if this doesnt work then it might be worth a ticket to devs to resolve. And according to your footage it was approximately 2 seconds before you took off that the weapon was drawn

Ok so here's my personal opinion on the matter. This does not reflect the opinion or policy of EMS
Firstly, Authorised EMS Personnel as per SOP are permitted to have firearms as a means of self defence when operating in remote areas where natural wildlife is a concern. These members must make their firearm licencing and ownership known to EMS in order to carry it on duty for this purpose. The person who shot you was a member of LSPD who was volunteering as EMS at the time. We will be reviewing this incident and addressing whether or not they should or should not carry/use their firearms in this way while on duty with EMS. This is an edge case that will need discussions between EMS and PD.
Most assumptions would lead to LSPD members being able to utilize their firearms and interject in a crime in progress while off duty. This happens in the real world. Now the specific case of them being an EMS Volunteer as I said will need addressing, as it is an edge case and at worst an oversight.
As for EMS full time members, personally given the current danger of the city, and the predatory nature of some crims to target EMS specifically because we have no means of defending ourselves, this is gonna have to be a bigger discussion. Our SOPS are clear that if we are the target of a crime, then neutrality does not apply. I believe that if we are to be put in danger, then we should have a right to self defence, as with every single other civilian in the city. I firmly believe in roleplay over gunplay, as much as possible, but if you put our lives in active danger, then we should absolutely be able to save ourselves. 90% of the time we should run for cover, but if you're actively shooting/putting imminent risk of great bodily harm/death, then we should have that ability. with strict ROE of course.
My final notes on this are in regards to your situation specifically Marlo, because frankly this suggestion coming in the immediate aftermath of the situation you had seems pretty disingenuous. You decided to steal an EMS helicopter during a Blood Drive event, for no other reason than "I had the balls to do it" according to your footage... which is very clearly just FailRP. You broke the rule of pillbox being a safe zone where situations should not start from. You Exploited by hotwiring the helicopter even after being removed from it. You were put at gunpoint by an LSPD officer that was off duty and volunteering as EMS, and told that if you tried to fly off you would be fired upon, you ignored it and did it anyway, putting everyone's lives at risk in the process and definitely your own. Immediately crash the helicopter under a highway underpass, and run off. Its actions like this that severely discourage mass events from happening. because everyone's automatically thinking in the back of their mind "Who's gonna ruin this one this time"
And now to try to smear all of EMS accusing us of "Acting like gangsters" its honestly more disappointing than anything.
We can, and should do better than this. -
big +1 here, goldpanning is painfully boring
-
+1 though might be a good idea to have some way to separating the likes of PD and whatnot to prevent potential metagaming by them spam calling every cop's number they find to see how many might be around

Would definitely love some gun maintenance, makes sense and can add a nice dynamic, hell, could even become part of a legal gun business. big +1

Type of Suggestion?: (e.g. server suggestion, server rule suggestion.) QoL change for Tow Truck Drivers
Please explain what the suggestion is about and why you're posting it?: (try use an example of what has happened in-game) We wanted to ask for the tow yard gates at every tow yard across the state to be made operable using a similar system to the gates at the harbours as well as the police controlled bollards with the Ctrl + F function. As currently we have to dismount our vehicles to open the gate manually, and this is quite an inconvenience.
Solution on how to make this work?: Use gate script present at harbour gates or Police Bollards and apply it to vantage tow yard gates, accessible by anyone (to allow vehicle owners to exit the tow yard with their vehicles)
Pros & Cons?: Pros: Massive QoL improvement for tow truck drivers. Safer operation as we don't have to dismount and risk theft of our vehicles.
Cons: Small amount of dev work.- 2

Looks great guys, awesome job!

big -1 on this... this just opens the flood gates wayyyy too much to some really awful cheap ways of screwing legal rp people out of their work. way too many servers have the problem that legal runs just arent worth doing because simply put, 9 out of 10 times, youre gonna have all your shit jacked because its just easier to steal than to do the work yourself.
I feel like far too many people would abuse the hell out of this if they had the option.- 1

Personally im gonna -1 as i think quality should be our primary focus over quantity. its certainly possible that we would get a number of good rp people to join, but given the general population of public RP players, i think it would just lead to more non serious hall assed rpers to join and cause problems. yes they could be resolved, but i dont think the headache and loss of immersion from those instances is worth the little gain.
