trying to simplify something that doesn't need simplifying

This isn't something i consider a crucial issue, it is a minor quality of life addition for a small convenience. Even a small addition to MDT could be cool.

  2. Type: Server

Suggestion: Add a menu for cops to be able to take major lead and select a staging area. This way all attending cops can see major lead as well as our staging location. This clears up the 5+ "Where are we staging" and "Who is major lead" questions that come over radio every major.

Pros: Quality of life for cops

Cons: Could not think of any, open to hearing them.

  3. What am I suggesting?

I am suggesting the addition of Heists as a new type of major. Below, I have written out a rough draft of what could be one of these new majors. Please let me know what you think!

    What are heists?

Heists are a type of major that is done after multiple stages of setup missions. Heists rely more on planning and setup than initiating and shooting. Heists would be given out from faction leaders or certain players on Anzus. These faction leaders would walk you through the setup stages and give you the locations for whatever you need to obtain to do the heist, similar to GTA 5 Heists.

    Example

CTRG need a folder out of DOC, but cant be seen to be involved. (This is a bs scenario for example sake)

Stage 1: Obtain a police car that is unique and won’t come up as stolen (Could be obtained from a warehouse with some risk of being caught or purchased at a modest price from a heist menu for no risk). These cars would be unique to the mission and shouldn’t raise any alarm to cops that are on duty. There should however be risk involved, for example, the heist team may need to break in to the warehouse without raising alarm. There could be cameras or an alarm system that could be disabled first. Or they can ignore that and try to get in and out fast enough to avoid the police.

Stage 2: Obtain Police uniforms, fake ID’s, keycards, and a GPS Spoofer. This could be acquired by meeting “a guy” (NPC) that the faction leader would direct you to. Robbing these off of a cop would partially defeat the purpose of the heist since you are aiming to draw as little attention to yourself as possible during the setup. You can get the items from the "Guy" by either paying for them, or by completing a small task for the NPC. (These items would be specific to the heist and only used for the heist, not to be obtained through other players that have robbed cops outside of the heist) The point of getting these items this way is to make it so you have a chance to get in to DOC undetected. These items make you look exactly like a cop on paper, but still leaves a chance that a thorough trooper can find that you are not on the roster.

Stage 3: The heist itself. Now that you and your crew are equipped with the needed tools, you can proceed to enter DOC to find the document. CTRG intel can get you in a general location, but you will need to physically search for the document similar to how you search a trash can. The players would need to do this without being noticed, or the heist would then turn in to a shootout.

If players are able to get out of DOC undetected, they can then deliver the document to the CTRG lead (or more likely an NPC) for payment. However, if the players are discovered after getting the document, they would need to escape with the document intact, whether that be in a chase or winning a shootout.

Optional Stages: Optional stages could be implanted to help the civs in some way, but aren’t required to start. For example, similar to the warehouse. You could send someone forward to quietly disable alarms or security at DOC after obtaining the fake police gear. Another example would be setting up a Karuma delivery at drop off point as a “just in case” for if the cops catch you and it turns into a chase. The possibilities for creativity here are endless.

How would these coexist with other majors?

The setup itself would not need to be effected by the major timer, but these heists could also, if needed, only be made available if there is an abundance of cops online at the time. The typical news announcement could be kept to only civilians as a minor notification once they enter DOC in the final stage of the heist rather than the massive banner we are used to seeing. If cops were able to see this notification, it would remove the “stealth” aspect, as cops will undoubtedly begin checking everyone and everything that passes through, making the task impossible.

    How could/will cops respond?

These heists are supposed to reward planning and execution. If police are alerted, they would have no restrictions for numbers and can use everyone available to detain you. Keep in mind that you would most likely be entering DOC with only one partner, anything else could raise suspicion, although that would be up to the civilians doing the heist.

The above example is just a rough draft idea. The point of Heists isn’t to change or overhaul majors, but to add a different type of big crime that relies less on PvP and more on time, setup, and execution. Obviously the plan can go wrong and it will turn in to a shootout, but you have the opportunity to gather as much tools and resources that’s available to try and succeed without a massive gunfight.

Pros: A refreshing take on majors. Something different from start major, have shootout, done.

Cons: Development time and resources. I am open to hearing other thoughts on what cons could be.

Let me know what y'all think.

This is actually a really good idea, no need to have (OPEN) or (CLOSED) on the map anymore, and would remove the whole “Any mod shop awake” in Twitter

That’s exactly what I was going for. I was also wondering about like a voicemail system for the businesses but I imagine that would be a pain to implement

  5. I thought the changes to lab were a massive improvement from what they used to be. New labs is easily accessed by everyone on the server without needing to travel halfway across the map. With a large part of the loot only being used for your hideout, having raid entry from the hideout I think makes the most sense rather than having it in a separate location. I also believe that if you needed a keycard, whether it be purchased or acquired otherwise, would make people less likely to attend compared to if they could pop in for free directly from the hideout. The hideout is great, but I don't think players see it as beneficial enough to go out of their way to obtain a keycard and then go to wherever the Arora lab is located.

However, the lab could benefit from some of the changes you mentioned. Having raids less frequently would make them more populated since there will be less opportunities to obtain the loot needed for your hideout. Combine less frequent raids with buffed loot tables, and I think that would bring a lot more activity to the Hideouts and the raids.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this as well.

  6. Would be nice to see a price increase on illegal runs. It feels like the risk isn't worth the reward when crafters will pay much better for steel runs or whatever resource they need. As someone that works a 9-5 and has family responsibilities, it is definitely tough to progress at all with the time available to play.

  7. Type: Server Suggestion

Explanation: Apologies if this has been suggested previously or is under development, I have been away for a long time.

I am suggesting the addition of stationary business phones for Bluking, Modshop, ETC. This way there is one number to call that will ring at a phone that is inside of whichever business the player is trying to get ahold of. There can also be a feature that will tell you if they are open or closed when you attempt to call them.

Solution: Adding a phone that will make an audible ring noise for all that are around, then any player can walk up to the phone and answer.

Pros: Easier for new players to get in contact with businesses, also makes employees of said businesses not need to take direct calls as frequently.

Cons: Could not think of any but I am sure there are some.
