+ now there are no 50rnds and nothing bigger than 556. when it was changed you could do it with 12 people all havin high caliber with big mags...

This isn't entirely accurate. Yes crafting got nerfed, but there are still extended magazines and things like .300 and 6.8 rifles. And a kit shouldn't be 20k, unless you are just straight up buying it from rebel shop where the price is high to influence people to buy from crafters.

It is not played whatsoever now, even cop mains who tried it on civ refuse to do it becomes it's so unbalanced now.  This is a terrible take IMO.  The major has been done twice since the start of 7.0, both times were cop wins.  That should tell you something.

So your suggestion is to make it civ sided, instead of an alternative that balances it?

  3. Sure, make Embassy the most overused Major again. There's a reason it was fixed. When there is an overwhelming amount of civilian wins vs cop wins, it's not the people.

  4. If you are going to attack the border, maybe have keycards or a plan for dealing with people in the towers. Don't expect it to be as easy as starting a fight on those poor souls who have to man the gates and then get away in 5 seconds. Most of the time, there is no reason to start conflict with police at the border. They are not open often, and when they are open, people just like to bait the ever living shit out of them and do things purposely to get initiated on. To that note, they deserve not only the towers they have available, but they also deserve every enjoyable moment of arresting said people who do that.

  5. Never heard of anyone having an issue on estimating time by the minute, but you do have this handy dandy clock right here.

  6. 1. I don't believe there is enough advanced workbench weapons to fully separate the skill and start from 1 again. I'll cover another point with this, as 7.62 is not a near future thing that is coming back.

    2. Firing pins could be replaced with changing up the processed uranium in recipes to uranium bars or even diamond since no recipes use it. Keeps the weapon value up without actually having to spend a fortune for parts.

    3. Advanced workbench should stay in warehouses and bunkers. People spent a fortune mainly for storage and access to this.

    4. To sum the rest up, I don't think adding two crafting skills in would help, and a lot of people are already in that slow progression stage in leveling up. The struggle is more real for those who don't have an assembly line of workers feeding them resources. 7.62, all the magazines before and fun shit can be a later thing that gets trickled in. That will get balanced out some with what cops can access, but at the same time the people who put the effort in should be able to make their profits or have some fun with their weapons. I feel like yeeting the firing pins out and just changing it to another resource will be a better start to the solution.

Well I just have no life so, check metrics. And ive spent like 500k+ paying people for labor and burgers to make this whole process quicker. Truth be told though I am not going for starmetal. id say its impossible with how the meteorites are limited. And the picks arent even op with how theyre currently coded.

And i do apologize for how i came at you, its aids to grind like this, mind melting at that, gets to me sometimes lol.

Is good brother. I just knew with how hotspots worked that a few people would honestly get Demonic much quicker than before. As for Starmetal, I do think some people will attempt it. Unlike the other pickaxes, the metal for it would probably take the longest to obtain, just do to the factors.

your underestimating how absolutely retardedly long its going to take to get to demonic steel. My estimations are off, its gonna take prob 2 solid months of grinding just for demonic steel. Then another like 4 for starmetal. It needs a buff, if youre not one of the people actively grinding mining levels, you arent understanding what youre talking about. It all gets ABSOLUTELY EXPONENTIALLY HARDER to level up. It was 1k per level about, now its 4k per level just 2 levels away from 35. I need to get 40k more xp just to get to level 45. Which means I need to redo all the already about 70 hours of grinding ive done just to get to vibranium.  And im serious. If youre wanting your people that are actually doing pickaxes to LITERALLY not live anymore. Then sure, dont change anything, but im telling you, its only really possible to gain 20k xp ina  day under absolutely perfect everything with burgers and zones realistically. Typically its only 10k xp a day. How many hours a day is that you ask? oh, 12!!! 12 hours a day at a mine for the next 6+ months just to get stuck at demonic steel and never get starmetal. Seems like a reasonable input raphael!

    More like overestimated...

so none of those, because they are all long rifles and the only semi-automatic rifles you can get? I think that's what you mean.

I feel as though even if the larger gangs are able to buy flashy supercars and such. Making it less grindy for everyone will let the single or duos be able to afford at least trucks. My friend and I grinded for 7 hours on a contract for tobacco with low-tier trucks. we made 95k. All while we did this I watched a major gang knock out a contract twice the size in 2ish hours. Making it so the smaller guys can still get stuff faster allows us to buy class 3s, hell even class 2s without grinding a whole day away.

The current state of the economy is so oppressive for small gangs and friend groups that I can see why people complain that its either afk farmers or large roaming gangs. That is the only two options for most. The in-between is not viable. I dont care if other gangs have cool cars and stuff, I want to be able to atleast grind 8 hours and get my buddy and I some real progress not a tiny 95k that after selling our trucks got us one slightly bigger truck.

Well doing tobacco in a mid-truck especially without max perk for processing is going to be brutal.

    Remove some of them innit

Can't really fix it as mentioned it is just an ArmA thing that happens sometimes. Removing them would just make the map have less detail. We also have lots of barriers to force people into better driving habits. I know that doesn't work on everyone or in every location, but we essentially had little or no barriers, cars would be all over the place.

  12. This would not solve the issue of "large factions and individuals who can dedicate more than 6 hours a day to playing" being "favored". The economy would simply adjust to the inflated income rate across everyone. Sure, you can buy a car faster, but ol' Joe Blow of the 20 man group can now buy a new super car every day, or a couple more houses as assets, which subsequently widens the gap.

I don't personally like how the economy has become with no way for small groups/solos to compete. Some people here and there have the wits to stay afloat, but newer people to the community will have it rough.

So your saying this is exploiting?

I’m just going off the suggestion as the poster claims it was exploiting. If he can easily deduce that, then I don’t understand why it can’t be reported. From what I can tell without a video, it reads at way to me.

Maybe if there was a better policy on giving out the license instead of handing it out willy nilly. Civs have to go through a formal process and provide a legit reason for needing it.

Is the second amendment not enough for those that chose the legal lifestyle?

+1, there's no reason a higher tier pickaxe shouldn't be able to get lower tier ingots. It's already a huge grind just to get to cobalt pickaxes so a slight xp increase would help make getting the other pickaxe somewhat atainable. I heard in Florida no one even got to demonic steel. Also the ammount of time it takes to get ingots, makes the pickaxe price super expensive. So implementing something like a higher chance of getting an ingot with a better pick axe, will make them somewhat more afordable to most players. Basically I agree with everything nex said.

I'll point out a couple things as you were still over in exile when Florida was around. The new pickaxes (bronze-starmetal) weren't in from the very beginning. They were added in 6.4, which was a few months into the wipe.  By that time, there were less people on the heavy grind, as we are currently. We also didn't have Exporter, so illegal activities were more common than now. That said, Demonic Steel Pickaxes were obtained and many people had them. Not many people could craft them, but made money by selling them, so they were around. You being #1 Miner, you get to find out first hand on the selling part.

Now since 7.0, the mining hotspot was also added which is great for leveling your mining and farming whichever specific metal you may be needing for whichever pick. Combine that with some known ways to further boost your gains, and you really up your chances in getting what you need. So, realistically, mining did get a buff since wipe. This is mainly why I was not supportive of the idea, as the wipe was so recent. Yeah, it's tough and not made for everyone.

Though, my opinion is unchanged, cheers to the miners if it gets a small buff.

  16. Considering that we are only three weeks into 7.0, and 2/5 of the pickaxes are already unlocked by players, I must disagree with the suggestion. Yes, it is a long frustrating grind that is intended to be difficult, but I'm looking at the long run with things like this. People will have Vibranium Picks within the next two weeks, followed by Demonic Steel in another month after, and to those that dare take the challenge will go further to unlock Star Metal. If this was a suggestion made half way in the wipe and players were no where close to finishing, I would of had a different opinion on it.

  17. I disagree with this idea, mainly because as you mentioned, it would be abused. All of the gangs would be using this vehicle and there would be so many armored look-a-likes around. It's intended for conflict because it gives the pushing group a chance to get up-close and contest the zone, rather than get ripped 50m outside of the rebel spawn. Similar concept to how police use a bearcat to get closer to major crime buildings.

I agree with this 100% however I do wish to bring forward a counter point / view which I believe can be interesting. Under the current system, if someone decides to invest a lot of time and effort into crafting (Leveling up crafting mostly), the only real means they have to compete with other forms of making money (Both legal and illegal) is to mass produce class 3s. The current weight limits on Mahogany make it so that the concept of legal crafting for profit (furniture) is not a genuine or competitive option. This means that in order to truly make money as a crafter, I have to flood the market with class 3s alongside every other crafter. If we buff Mahogany, it will make furniture crafting much more appealing in order to make money. This would in return reduce the amount of class 3s being produced since crafters would have a legal way to make money that can compete with any of the current legal runs (Steel, earth, tobacco, etc). On top of that, it would increase the market prices of Class 3s. If making furniture becomes more profitable, crafters will be FAR less likely to sell Class 3s for dirt cheap when they could simply spend their time making better money doing furniture. As for XP, I agree that it does grant Crafting XP (Anyone can EASILY gain the ability to make standard class 3s without needing high end furniture), however it grants VERY little player xp. 1 process of Mahogany is like ~280 XP vs Steel at 1500XP per process. I believe that balances out XP gain by default. That's the view that I wished to share. Thanks!

    TLDR:

Mahogany buff = Furniture becoming a legit option for crafters to make money

Crafters have an alternate way to make $ that's not mass producing enough Class 3s to make the PD question their life decisions.

Class 3s will increase in cost since crafters will be able to turn down low ball offers and simply return to making furniture for $.

Crafters rely heavily on food buffs which means an increase in demand for hunters as well as the food stores. (more spread out econ)

End result: Less Class 3s, higher cost, and we can explore a new legal venue for making money.

I don’t know for a fact if class 3 crafting and selling currently makes more or less than crafting and selling furniture, so I’ll bring in @Happy Killmore and he may or may not have any input for it.

Yeah, I'm not saying they should be able to do multiple contracts at once, but just being able to complete one without the contract holder being online would help tons. some people live in completely different time zones and play at opposite times of the day.

This where you would want to take on smaller contracts, and make use of house storage. For basically a trader that gives you up to 50% more compared to snow for just an example, it isn’t too bad of a con.

But yeah it’s still an understandable point you were mentioning, and worth putting out there, unlike people who don’t contribute any valuable feedback. @Jason Fire
